Located in the home state of President George W Bush and the “No Child Left Behind Act,” Arlington Independent School District (AISD) maintains the high standards held by the National Department of Education. Educating 62,000 students everyday, AISD upholds 50 elementary schools, 12 junior high schools, six high schools, a preschool, and five alternative schools. In these schools, the district runs comprehensive programs that include basic subjects, such as math, science, and English, in addition to sports, arts, humanities, enrichment and civic responsibility. The Arlington Independent School District motto is “Quality in Action,” in accordance with this statement, the district centers on student individuality. Teachers are trained to nurture at-risk students as well as introduce higher level material into their classes when they deem appropriate.
